Casey Anthony has opened a private investigation company in West Palm Beach, Florida, state business records show.
Anthony, now age 34, was acquitted of killing her 2-year-old daughter Caylee who went missing in June 2008. Caylee had already been missing for a month before Anthony’s mother contacted the police. Caylee’s remains were eventually found in a wooded area near the family home.
Following a highly publicized trial, Anthony was charged with first-degree murder, aggravated manslaughter of a child, and aggravated child abuse charges.
Instead, she was convicted on four counts of lying to law enforcement during the homicide investigation and served three years in prison. Much of the world was still convinced that she was guilty and HLN’s Nancy Grace labeled her “the most hated mom in America.”
Anthony told reporters in 2017, “I don’t give a s**t what anybody thinks about me. I don’t care about that I never will.” Adding, “I’m OK with myself. I sleep pretty good at night.”
The limited liability company, Case Research & Consulting Services, LLC, was registered on December 14, 2020, and became active at the beginning of 2021. The business address is tied to Patrick McKenna, the former lead private investigator for Anthony’s defense team.
McKenna is known for his investigative work on the O.J. Simpson case, who was charged and later acquitted in the death of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson.
In 2017, it was reported that Anthony was living in South Florida with Patrick McKenna. She has been an employee for McKenna for almost five years, helping him with cases by doing social media searches and other types of investigative work, according to the Associated Press.
