The dream job for any true crime fan really does exist! FreeUp will pay one lucky, true crime fanatic $350 USD a day, for two days a week to write about true crime.
With the majority of true crime fans safe at home binge-watching the latest serial killer documentaries and murder mysteries anyway – this opportunity from the documentary streaming service could not have come at a better time.
The job advert reads:
If you are fluent in English (additional written language skills a bonus!), obsessed with true crime and love to write, then we may have the perfect opportunity for you.
FreeUp is committed to matching companies with highly-skilled and passionate freelancers that can drive forward the desire to create amazing projects, and well, this is no exception.
We are looking to recruit a ‘True Crime Connoisseur’ for one of our clients, who can write both long and short-form articles as well as social media posts for a new pop culture e-Zine.
The website, which is due to launch in the Fall, is willing to pay the right candidate $350 USD a day, for two days a week (at least 10 pieces of content a week is required). This will initially be for 6 months but with possible scope for a longer-term contract.
Applicants with proven digital skills and previous content creation experience are desirable but some on-the-job training can be provided.
Matt Harrison, VP Strategy at FreeUp, said,
“FreeUp’s entire ethos is driven by the pleasure we get from connecting companies with the best freelance talent from across the world. You can just feel the passion from everyone working on this project and we would love to do the company the justice of finding a writer that matches their level of passion for the true crime community.”
“This is going to be a dream job for a lot of people and we’re anticipating a lot of applications so I would urge any candidates to triple check their submissions before sending.”
