Federal officials have confirmed notorious mobster Whitey Bulger was found dead in his cell on Tuesday, 30th October age 89-years-old.
Bulger, who was sentenced to life in prison in 2013, was recently moved from Florida to a maximum-security facility at U.S Penitentiary Hazelton in West Virginia – although it was never explained why he moved. Police have not yet confirmed the cause of death.
The former leader of the Winter Hill Gang was known for participating in the deaths of 11 victims in Massachusetts to Florida to Oklahoma. Bulger was one of the FBI’s most wanted before his capture in 2011 after spending more than 16 years on the run.
In 2015, he was portrayed by actor Johnny Depp in the film Black Mass.
