Last week, 40-year-old suspected serial killer Shawn Grate was arrested after one brave woman managed to get free from being tied up and make a chilling phone call to 911’s emergency services.
When police arrived to break the woman free from the home they found two bodies – the victims were 29-year-old Elizabeth Griffith and 43-year-old Stacey Stanley. The woman and the victims were found in an unoccupied home in Ashland County, Ohio – thanks to her quick thinking she had a lucky escape.
Records show Grate, who is homeless, has a long criminal record and served time in prison on a burglary charge beginning in 1997. The woman who made the chilling 911 call will not be publicly identified but the 911 call where she pleads with the operator to send help quickly as Grate sleeps just a few feet away from her was published online.
